My Dad’s Leather Jacket

I have been trying to find a date to the Valentine’s Day School Dance at our school; I haven’t had much luck…that is until I found an oldie but goodie hanging in my dad’s closet….the black leather jacket and aviator glasses.  I asked my dad if he would mind if I could wear it and he didn’t care at all, however my mom wasn’t so willing.  My mom told me to put it back in the closet that it wasn’t a “winter coat”.  I just knew that if I could wear it to school one day with those awesome glasses I would be able to win the heart of some lucky lady and have myself a date to the dance.  I was for certain.  So, with mom saying no to me wearing it, I snuck it out of the house in my back pack and wore it to school.  Later on that day….while I was busy winning the hearts of all the girls…my mom showed up and made me take the coat off and she gave me her coat to wear rest of the day.  She said that her coat was a real “winter coat”.  SO EMBARRASSING!!  I really believe that black leather coat was my way of getting a date to the dance….now we will never know.

What I learned about the Holocaust

          Lesson 1

One lesson I learned in the Holocaust was everyone wanted to live a good, nice life but the Holocaust stopped that for some people. No matter your looks or size you should have equal rights.

           lesson 2

Another lesson I learned about the Holocaust is to never give up, even if your siblings die in front of you,you should alway keep trying. Like in concentration camps.

Me and Annemarie were running  home from school and got stopped by two soldiers and it was really scary .They asked Annemarie if I was a good student Annemarie said yes. I was scared to death that they were going to shoot us. Annemarie said a prayer silently  and was hoping Kirsti would receive it. The soldiers were speaking really fast in german that me and Annemarie. The soldiers finally let us go and told us to study our schoolbooks.
